java under attack

i just heard about this(on the kim comando show), but it is only a couple days old. apparently there are a couple new malwares out there. they consume your resources to the max(your hard disk runs constantly etc). apparently they attack from infected websites, and you should disable java in your browser. they say it is safe to run desktop java apps, but suggest that if you dont need it you should uninstall java.
