Hi All,
I Passed with 61%, I found the questions were very tough. Not tougher than Ethuware's program but equally tough (I did about 5 mock-tests only along with other sources, because my time was limited with work).
Should I try to re-attempt the cert test again to get a better mark? Coming to a job interview with a score like mine would be my downfall isn't?
Thanks for your feedback,
ikel

Heartiest Congratulations!
And Welcome to CodeRanch!
Generally, the score does not matter much in interview - as long as you can comfortably answer the interview questions.
Still, if you want improvement in score, I would highly recommend to got for OCPJP 7 exam (for which you are eligible now), instead of giving OCPJP 6 again.
All the Best!

Iwan,
Congratuatlions for passing the exam.
You may consider to take OCMJD or web component expert exam to make some improvement.
Dante,
Are you taking OCJP 6? As long as you understand KB's self-tests and explanations, you will pass it. I was extremely nervous when I took the exam, too.
But when I took the exam, I found out that KB study guide was helpful.

Hi Himai,
Yes I'm going for OCPJP 6, I have studied K&B completely and I reviewed it many times (plus two minutes drills).
I use whizlabs mock exams and my last exam result is 76%.
I review previous exams many times and write notes.
Is there anything that I need to do in these few days to exam?
I appreciate your suggestions.

Hi, Dante.
I did not use whizlab. I use KB's study guide and the master exams in the CD.
I didn't do well in those self-tests,but I passed the real exam.
For the last few days before the exam, you can simply review the self-tests.
The difficulty level of the real test is similar to the self-tests.

Hi All,
Thank you for your kinds words. Just to tell you a bit about my background. I come come research background. During my PhD I developed special interest in software development, Java. So I'd like to plunge myself in the programming arena. My background was in Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering and PhD in Computer and Education. Both involved certain amount of programming in C++ and Python.
I'm hoping to get a programming position in Java, since I have no IT degree, I am hoping that some certs would help. However this hasnt' been easy, because now I realise that many companies surrounding me are asking for skills in J2EE as well on top of other gazzilion skills. For example, http://www.seek.com.au/Job/junior-java-j2ee-developer/in/sydney-cbd-inner-west-eastern-suburbs/23812739
Now, that I am in the midst of Java experts, would anyone has a sound suggestion for me? What would you suggest for someone like me to proceeed? Should I stop at OCJP 6 and forget the whole lot, or should I simply plough slowly with other java-based certs?
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
ikel
