Deployment in tomcat

I am putting my folder directly to webapp folder of tomcat.
Its getting displayed in deployed application list but running status is false i m trying to start but no use.
Can anybody tell me what is wrong with it
directory structure is correct. class file is there..

You say directory structure is correct, but don't provide examples. You have a WEB-INF/web.xml file? Your "directory structure" is in WAR format?

FAIL - Application at context path /Try could not be started
FAIL - Encountered exception org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: Failed to start component [StandardEngine[Catalina].StandardHost[localhost].StandardContext[/Try]]

i am getting this message when deployed war file.
