Keeping track of question number

I am creating an e-learning site, the user will have a series of 20 questions, i have the questions to automatically update when the the next button is clicked but i have a line at the top saying what question you are on. This wont update. I have a feeling it is not storing the page value but is just initializing it at 0 and then adding 1 every time the next button is clicked.

FIXED: I changed @RequestScoped to @SessionScoped
