Is Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer a pre-requisite for OCPJP ?

Hi,
Title says it all really. I'm just looking for advice on what to tell newbies to the company who have no certifications at all.

Hi Alan,

OCA is now a prerequisite for OCP if you are not taking an upgrade exam. This is new for the SE 7 certifications, and was not the case for SE 6.
