The following js code works fine with jQuery 1.7.2 but the last servlet never gets requested when using jQuery 1.8.2

Without knowing how any of this is wired, hard to say. But it looks like there may be a problem on line 16.

I moved the last function call to document ready script and it works okay now. I don't know if this is correct or not. It was like the form loaded before the content was ready.

Anything that references the DOM must wait until the ready handler to execute. (Or some people place the scripts at the bottom of the body.)
