other options for java developers in india apart from Team Leader after 5 years of experience.

Hi am software engineer on java from India.I have been doing coding as software engineer.Now my experience has increased to 5 years. In the coming years what can be the roles I can be working on. I know one most common in Team Leader. I like working independently mostly. What other alternatives will be for me in the coming years? I am also looking for a change of job. So want to know a few things.Do all senior developers in indian software companies have to become team leaders or there can be positions where you are doing something other than being leader of a big team. I think not all become team leaders but what others become I do not know after their experience increases.?I would appreciate suggestions if you know any alternatives too as I have to plan.?
