This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
I am currently trying to learn java so I can develop some apps and games for mobile device. I am currenty working on my first project and have created a basic image sprite. what I want to do now it add some functionality to be able to move the ship (sprite) around the screen preferably using a dpad touch emulation. I want the image to rotate in the direction its heading just like a ship would. Can anyone point me and give me some examples to achieve what I need it to do.
I doubt that anyone will download a zip file from some site of unknown provenance, and then try to figure out what all the involved pieces are.
Why don't you describe here what specific problem you're facing, along with some selected code excerpts that demonstrate what you have so far?
Since you mention a touch screen, have you been able to detect and track touch gestures in your code? If not, that's where you could start, irrespective of what the gestures should ultimately accomplish.
