regarding OCA and SCJP certification

i m working as jsp/javascript programmer. I need some guidance regarding can we do OCA and SCJP certification both. will doing both of these certiifications would be helpful. I know both are different background s but still if want to do can the combination would be favourable..currently i m prpearing for OCA ..

Welcome to CodeRanch!

Makes sure you are taking the Java 7 version of the OCPJA rather than the old OCA. The old one doesn't qualify as a pre-req for the new SCJP (OCPJP.) It's a dead end. See our OCPJA and OCPJP forums for lots of details and FAQ about the exams.
