Penguins and polar bears normally never see each other, since penguins live only on Antarctica and polar bears only live in the Arctic region.

They used to, but all went deaf playing the cymbals loud enough to be heard 10000 miles away.

This is not true. They live on various parts of world including Africa.

I'm pretty sure they also live on the southern end of South America

There are Galapagos penguins, which are the only naturally occurring penguins north of the equator (and just barely). However the pictured penguin is either a king or an emperor, and those are limited to Antarctica. They are terrible xenophobes and wouldn't be above using cymbals to drive away marauders from the "wrong arctic" as they call it, but oddly enough they prefer vuvuzelas.

The king penguin is also on the Faukland Islands. I know this because I was actually scheduled to see them there.

Unfortunately, due to really bad weather, the cruise ship could not make tender. I was really disappointed -- which i guess was better than some other passengers that had the Faukland Islands on their bucket list.

On the bright side, you avoided the vuvuzelas.

(Actually, though, I'm really sorry to hear that and I can imagine your disappointment. I hope you'll make it back to the Faulklands/Malvinas someday.)

Not only between bravery and stupidity, but the characters in the movie "Spinal Tap" learned that "there's a very fine line between clever and stupid." (That was when they got in trouble for an album cover that people warned them was sexist, but they went ahead with it because they got confused between "sexist" and "sexy".)

We've seen very cute, one foot tall, blue-ish penguins in the south island of NZ.

(In NZ it's pronounced "ping - guins")

He got surgery to replace his foot with a pig. He said it was because of this tiny ad:
a bit of art, as a gift, that will fit in a stocking
