JSP Life Cycle Interview Question

Hi All,

I was asked a question in Interview, "How JSP runs".

I answered,

1. JSP will transformed to Servlet

2. compiled to class file.

3. runs in web container.

but, i forgot to tell him, that response will be rendered in the client (which is browser).

He asked me again "JSP runs in web container??", I said "YES".
and I got rejected.

I strongly believe, I answered all the other questions properly.

Is this answer is right, I really had doubt. Is my answer is right??

Please help me to understand this.

Thanks,
Bennet.

Yes, JSP "runs" in the web container -- if by that he/you meant the servlet container.

Please see this article for details.

Yes, I mean servlet container.

Thanks,
Bennet.
