Hi,

Currently we are using RAD 6 with WAS 5.1(jdk1.4). Our plan is to create a new environment which will have WAS 8.5.
Will the EARs which we export from WAS 5.1 will be compatible to WAS 8.5 or there will be any compatibility issue?

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks,
Nitish

In theory, they are compatible. In practice, there could be some issues. You are going to need to try it to find out.

Thanks for the info. Also is it possible to install was 8.5 in rad 6? Since in new server configuration panel rad6 is supporting maximum upto was 6. So is there any way around or we need to upgrade rad version only?

Thanks,

No. RAD/RSA 6 haven't been supported in quite some time so IBM wouldn't make a WebSphere 8.5 plugin.

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
