HI I need to move my Weblogic 9.1 Admin console to another server.

Is it possible to just create the Domain on the new server, then copy in the Domain details from the old server and amend the config.xml file to change the listen address to the new servers ip address.

The managed servers config.xml has the listen address of the old admin console i presume i will have to change this or will it get overwritten.

Or will this not work at all and will i need to reconfigure everything on the new admin console, cluster of 40 unix servers, JMS, EJB's etc etc

Many Thanks

Though you can try it but I never had any success with doing the manual change as all configs like encrypted passwords etc does not change.
One of the option you can try is keeping all the passwords same and trying to create the newone and migrate but this method is not at all suggested if its a production server and there is 50/50 chance that it might work or might not.

You might require the pack and unpack methods to do it so. few reference urls are listed below
