RMI important methods

I got few ready made applications from the internet on RMI and they are working absolutely fine.
But i am unable to write my own code from scratch.
Please someone tell me what are the important methods on which i should work upon.
I have already implemented a few methods but not all.
If possible, please reply with the answer from the interview point of view.
