Java Integration Developer for a contract to hire opportunity in Linthicum, MD. The Java Integration Developer works in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)-driven organizational framework and provides integration expertise for a variety of applications.This role is responsible for analysis, design, development, integration and implementation of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) processes and applications for EngagePoint clients.The Java Integration Developer will:
• Manage the full development cycle of all enterprise integration, including the creation of formal functional requirements, technical design specs, development of quality test plans, interface thread programming, and interface implementation and maintenance
• Develop and implement Java-based solutions guided by technical and business requirements and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and other industry-recognized methodologies for ESB processes and applications
• Implement interfaces that ensure integrity of data and minimal disruption to customers
• Analyze technical systems and provide assistance with system design, testing, debugging documentation, implementation and maintenance to ensure a technically sound, health industry-relevant environment
• Develop scalable, interoperable interfaces compatible with ESB processes and applications
• Work with Enterprise Architecture (EA) team members to track and document enterprise-wide setup and technology usage for every assigned application
• Serve as a technical resourcefor Java-based integration and development topics in meetings, briefings, documentation efforts and other communications as requested
• Conduct unit testing for code, perform code reviews and provide support when detailed code analysis or source code changes are required
• Collaborate with systems programmers to minimize design and application program risks associated with interface implementation
• Produce ad hoc and other reports using report writers such as SQL, as requested
• Maintain industry/technical knowledge base and facilitate/maintain industry relationships
• Demonstrate commitment to providing customer-focused quality service
• Support assigned systems with on-call availability and respond within agreed upon timeframes
• Perform other duties as deemed relevant based upon experience to fulfill customer needs
Required Experience
• Seven (7) or more years of demonstrated experience in Java development
• Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience in the development, maintenance and analysis of interfaces, applications, programs, systems and support
• Three (3) or more years of hands-on experience with system integration, implementation and deployment
• One (1) or more years of ESB experience
• One (1) or more years of experience with Business Process Execution Language (BPEL)
• Hands-on experience with Web Services (SOAP), SQL Development, XML and Flat Files (CSV, Fixed-Width)
• Some experience in relational databases, writing queries and stored procedures
• Some experience and familiarity with frameworks, build systems and data mapping technologies
Experience in design, development, implementation and deployment of web enabled applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources
Preferred Experience
• Healthcare industry background
• Experience working in an SOA framework
• Experience with Web Services
• Experience with FUSE ESB or IBM WebSphere ESB
• Familiar with XSLT or JAXB
• Background in Insurance, Financial, Retail, and/or Logistics industries
• Collaboration with a highly skilled development team
• Experience working with multiple departments or a distributed workforce
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and processes
• Familiarity with Object Oriented Design (OOD) and Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Experience in Authentication, authorization, and Single Sign On (SSO)
