Hello Experts,

I am new to this forum and need some advice. I am planning to take SCJP6 examination in June 2013 and have been reading Kathy Sierra for the same.

However, I haven’t done a lot of programming. Can you please advise me some good books/ websites for enhancing my programming skills? Resources which have programming assignments would be more helpful.

Also for the examination point of view, would it be advisable to code on NetBeans or on command prompt.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Deepika,

Welcome to the Ranch.

I would suggest you to prepare on command prompt as it will give you a better understanding of the deployment related issues.

Write as many as programs to improve programming skills. As suggested by others, command line is the best way to do mistakes and learn from them.
