Hi All,

I wanted to writh this exam web component certification for quite a long time, but I didn't get enough time to prepare.
I am planning to prepare for this time from this month. But couple of my team mates say that Web component (servlets) is very old technology & outdated.
Is it worth investing time to prepare for this exam and appear for it. Please advise.

Thanks & regards

IMO its worth the time and money. Servlets are not "outdated" if you ask me. Whether you use some frameworks like Spring/Struts, they internally use Servlet APIs like Filter or Servlet etc to work. And from my own experience people who know Servlets are able to understand such frameworks more easily. Also the SCWCD exam covers things like custom tags, EL etc. which are helpful on the job IMO...

The technology is not outdated and it is used in every Java EE application. You could prepare for OCE Web component exam instead of OCP Java EE 5 Web component exam.
