Best original java gui widget competition

A lot of times i am using swing, and i think it is perfect, and then suddenly i feel like their is a component missing to accomplish the task at hand. In this competition i challenge everyone to try to come up with the best new java swing widget, and write an actual implementation of the widget. The only rules are that the component must extend java.awt.component or JComponent, the component must be compatible with all existing swing/awt widgets, and jni is allowed as long as a cross platform approach is made. I will post my own example when i think of something creative to add, and after a couple of ideas have been shared. The competition's winner will be decided by the submission with the most votes.
