Oracle has compiled a list of frequently asked questions on Java certification, which is accessible using the link: https://blogs.oracle.com/oracleuniversity/entry/java_certification_your_burning_questions

If you have any question, which wasn't answered here on the Ranch, you can go ahead and ask it from the creators of the exam.

But, please be considerate and don't just post your questions at Oracle.com without looking around for information yourselves. You can almost be sure of receiving quickier replies here, on the ranch.

Good luck for your exam preparation!

With respect,
Mala

It doesn't answer some of the most frequently asked questions about these certifications (at least here on the Ranch) such as do the questions tell how many option have to be selected, are there any drag and drop style questions. (The answers to these are Yes and No respectively, btw.)

Good start though

I agree with you, Paul.

Even though the FAQs at Oracle.com lack completeness, they score over the FAQ at JavaRanch in terms of the credibilty of the answers. The questions there would be answered by the folks at Oracle themselves, armed with 'insider's information' on certification process. Their responses wouldn't be 'personal opinions', which would make them credible.

This is not to state that the responses here are any less good. Both experts and newcomers answer questions here. Ranchers benefit from the experience of experts. However, answers by newcomers can be based on guessing work or assumptions, which can be misleading or incomplete.

With respect,
Mala
