I got an email from linuxquestions.org that contained:

A reminder that answering threads with no replies is a great way to help your fellow LQ members. Visit http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/lqsearch.php?do=noreplies to get a list of Zero Reply Threads,

Which I thought was pretty cool.

Now since you people are so much better how about a search for threads with no good replies? That's probably harder, but probably doable if you excluded replies that contained "use code tags", "need more information", "why do you want to do THAT".

Joe

It's not what your program can do, it's what your users do with the program.

“Need more information” replies are useful; they tell you which threads to avoid answering .
If you look at the contents page of any of our fora, eg this one, you see there is a column with reply numbers. You can then look for those with no replies.

Hi Campbell,

Yes I grep through the reply counts seeing if I can find something to add now. Just thought it might be an easy feature to add.

I assume you will be much better than I at coming up with a way to select "without a good answer'.

Coderanch does have a feature for the OP to mark a topic as resolved, and for moderators to confirm or not. In theory, assuming that this feature gets more traction, the search can be created to used this to look for resolved topics or not. Unfortunately, right now, this feature still seems to be obscure.
