I'm using Hibernate along with Spring. I want a good material that would help me know the API and at the same time have a good deal of explanation in using Hibernate as the Data Layer with Spring. I have two options for the books,

(1) Spring in Action

(2) Pro Spring

Among the above two, which would help me better? Please advise guys!

Spring's online documentation is quite excellent. You might find that you don't even need a book.
