How to Fill Page with Containers

I am floating left two containers into my page.

The first containers height is set to auto and width 100%.
How do I set the second container height to fill the rest of the page(minus what the first container has used)?
If I set the second height to 100% of course I get a y-direction scroll bar. It I set it to auto it is not really appealing.
