Hi Guyz,

I am trying to implement String search within a List of elements. Suppose we search for AB it will show only those elements which holds AB string.
List is huge, It may go to thousands. When am I trying in IE8 it is getting hung saying A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly..... no problem as such in IE9, chorme .

I am sharing code snip here, Please suggest me what I need to change.

Microsoft made vast improvements to their JavaScript implementation with IE9. I'd just say that IE8 is running slow because, well, it's IE8.

Have you considered doing these transformations on the server prior to delivering the page to the browser, rather than doing it JavaScript on page load?

No I have not tried at server side, just filtering at client end only, cause we have all the data available.
is there any way to tweak this jquery for client side itself?

It's impossible to say without profiling, but I highly doubt that it's the use of jQuery that's causing any problems; jQuery has been highly optimized. Rather, I'd suspect that the heavy use of regular expressions may be what's slowing IE8 down.
