I have a JInternalFrame. I need to select a name from the database. For this, I need to load a new JDialog containing a JTable. When the user types the name, the relavant search results will appear on the table. What I want is that when the user select the name and press Enter, I need to pass that selected name to the JInternalFrame which I mentioned earlier. I have no idea how to do it. Please help me out someone . . .

Where does the user type the name? i.e, is the JTextField where the user is supposed to type the name placed on the JInternalFrame itself? In any case, you should be able to refer to the text field variable and call getText() to get the value.
