Maven2 to Maven 3 Upgrade... Please Help

Hey Guys

i need to start using maven3 instead of maven 2. I pointed maven 3 to the local repository that maven 2 was using all along. There's a proxy repo in the shape of nexus 2.3 (which still uses maven 2). But I keep getting errors such as:

I then backed my local repo to another point on the hard drive and deleted my local repo so maven 3 will have to pull everything down. And again i get the same errors. from what i read in the below lonk as long as i have a repository manager like nexus i shouldn't incur these legacy problems

If i remove my settings. xml everything works. so i believe teh problem to be nexus

Any ideas or examples of how to upgrade to maven3?

The problem is not with your local repository but rather with accessing the Nexus repository. Do you have access to http://pta-phoenix-02:8080/nexus/content/groups/public/? Is that a Maven 2/3 style repository or a Maven 1 style repository. (Maven 1 repositories are legacy repositories, as far as I know Maven 2 and 3 use the same repository layouts.)

I recall a couple years back when I went from Maven 2.x to 3.x that I have no issues with either my local repository nor with our Nexus repository.
