This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
The goal is to create a new web service. After installing Apache tomcat, Java (jdk22.214.171.124), SSL cert, started apache and
getting the following error in the Catilina.out file. Verified I can connect to the database by manually connecting via sqlplus
so have correct connection info and can. Apache process appears to be running fine. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot
this issue? Thanks in advance.
ERROR ConnectTool:68 - Method:createConn():Connections could not be acquired from the underlying database!
Your issue could possibly be because of one of these ...
1. The database configuration details you have entered are incorrect or have changed
2. The URL for the database is incorrect
3. The database server is not running. If your database server is down, restart it and check the logs to see why it had failed or stopped
4. The network is down (or there is a firewall in between confluence and the database server which is interfering) and the connection to the database cannot be established
Thanks for the warm welcome and responding so quickly! ~
Yeah, maybe its a firewall issue but as mentioned I'm able to connect to the database from the web server to
the remote database via sqlplus. By any chance are there some tests I can run to verify Apache tomcat and
Java were installed correctly?
