adding button on browser

i am working on the internet download manager as my final project. I dont have any idea how to add interface/button on the brower. wherever a user clicks on the button it shows downloadable links and after user selection it begin downloads ....
anyone have any idea on it....

You should first study how to make plugins for a specific browser. For instance, you might have to learn about XUL if you want to make an extension in Firefox.
