What is the need of EJB / Hibernate for db transcation ?

Hi Friends,

I know some might think it is a stupid question but I really want to know the need of EJB / Hiberante. If we can make connection object using JNDI / DriverManager and play with DB, why do we require EJB / Hibernate of if any suits ?

It's just an abstraction layer, makes your life easy and avoids a lot of boiler plate code.

they will provide lot of benefits like session management,exception handling,transaction management,type mapping ,etc.. otherwise you need to take care of those things
