My app (which is a simple 2d game written using OpenGL ES 2.0) currently doesn't have a splash screen or menu, when you launch the app, it goes straight into the game.
Now, the thing is, that when I run this on a lower-end phone (a Samsung Galaxy Ace) it starts, but for the first 20 seconds or so, although everything is displayed and you can play it, it's clearly doing something in the background because the game 'stops and starts' - it's very jerky (sometimes everything will stop for a fraction of a second, then run really fast as it 'catches up' - it's extremely annoying).
I'm not doing anything special to load my resources, and there is a pause of about 5 or 6 seconds before it actually runs (black screen -which is where everything is loading and all my sprites are being created etc I assume).
After a little while, everything is smooth as butter.
Would anyone have any idea what may be going on?! Everything must be loaded at that point and all objects created, otherwise the app wouldn't start and be playable....
