HTTP and JMS communication

I was recently asked in one of the interviews that how would i marry HTTP and JMS protocols in one enterprise system.
At one place JMS is asynchronous and doesn't allow a response back and a request is coming from HTTP(stateless protocol) and how would I have a system which accepts a response back from my JMS system.
In short how would I combine HTTP and JMS?

@Ulf Dittmer,

JMS: From what I understand:

1. point to point async: fire and forget
Sender ---> queue ---> Receiver

2. point to point async: request and reply
Sender ---> in queue ---> Receiver
Sender <--- out queue <--- Receiver
by message correlation technique

I just wonder if point 2 a form of synchronous communication or not?
