Hello Ranchers

I am Java programmer from India, looking forward to take up some java certification since last 1 year and delayed. Now, I have buckled up myself to take it ASAP. I did some research on Java certifications.
Here are my findings, and found that I have two options.
  • Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer
    Exam Code : 1z0-803
  • Cost: Rs 8014
  • Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 Programmer
    Exam Code : 1z0-804
  • Cost: Rs 8014

  • Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer
    Exam Code : 1Z0-851
  • Cost: Rs 8014

My question is which one should I take, Associate 7 or Professional 6. As Professional 7 requires Associate 7 as a prerequisite, I don't want to talk about this.
Today its Java7, I am really muddled about taking the decision of selecting the exam Associate 7 or Professional 6, both have the same cost in India.
Did anyone cleared the Associate 7 exam recently, can you share your experience? If I take up Professional 6, is it a meaningful or worth, I mean after Java 7 release?

    Ranchers, please provide your suggestions.

Having the professional cert means more than the associate one. Version numbers are secondary. So if you are only going to take one exam, you will find the OCJP 6 to be much more challenging any mean more.
