Many of you probably aren't aware that recently JBoss Application Server was renamed to WildFly. The rename process itself was a long drawn affair and was done with help from the community. The decision to rename was announced last year and community users were asked to suggest new names. A lot of names were suggested and a certain few were narrowed down for a final round of community voting. The name WildFly emerged as the winner. So starting April this year, JBoss Application Server (the community edition) is henceforth known as WildFly. Of course, given that JBoss Application Server is a very popular name and a big project, there are many questions which users keep asking, like what the rename means to the community. I recently blogged about the rename process and also about recently released WildFly 8.0.0.Alpha1 version, where I try and answer some of these frequently asked questions and also provide a bit of history and reason behind the rename http://jaitechwriteups.blogspot.in/2013/06/wildfly-release-and-history-behind-the-release.html
