I want to develop a web sports management game like http://www.hattrick.org/. I am a web app developer.
Can anyone please guide how to go about writing the logic/algorithm of the game.
I do not want the 2D or 3D graphics. Just the behind the scenes logic/algorithm.
Please tell me where to start? I've posted this question earlier in forums but just
got a gaming website tutorial link in the reply
1) Turn off your computer
2) Turn on your brain
3) get lots of paper, pencils, and probably most important, erasers.
4) Start writing, drawing, sketching, and erasing ideas.
That may sound glib, but this is how all software is written. YOU have to know how to do it before you can tell someone ELSE how to do it - or tell a computer how to do it. All software requires "specs" - that is short for "specifications". Right now, you have what I call "vagues", because you just have a vague idea of what you want it to do. "I want it do to what THAT does" really doesn't tell me anything about what your software should do. If you were hiring me to do this, the first thing I'd do is say "write me some specs"
There are only two hard things in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-one errors
