Hi all,

the title totally shows my problem:

I have created a GUI that allows users to connect to a db through username and password.

Now I want to know users permissions (insert rescords and/or read records) in order to modify in the right way my GUI.

How could I get that?

TY and BR,

Adriano.

Are you talking about database permissions or user application permissions. Please be more specific about what you are trying to do here.

I'm talking about db permissions.

For example, some users could insert, read and modify records. Other one could only read records.

So I have to know how can I get these informations: mysql is installed on the same host where client runs. So there is not a real server side: it's all on the same host.

TY and BR,

Adriano.

There might be pseudo-tables to support this type of query. It is not a Java-related question but pertinent to MySQL.

Googling on "mysql pseudo-table permission" yielded -among others-
this.
