Which Tomcat distribution do you use? I think you use "64-bit itanium windows" version. It is not compatible with AMD 64 and most 64-bit intel processors. Download and use "64-bit windows" version.

Thanks a lot Maxim, I managed to startup the console but now I need to test if Tomcat is working properly, my machine is connected to the internet, If I type the URL "http://localhost:1024" it says "Internet explorer cannot display the web page". Would really appreciate your response.

Did you changed tomcat configuration? As far as I remember, default port is 8080 and not 1024. An url should be http://localhost:8080

Port can be any number between 1024 and 65535, the 8080 port was not working hence the reason why I changed it to 1024 that one as well was not working so I changed the port to 1111 and I managed to start the Tomcat home page, thanks for all your help.
