Hi all,
I have an XML file which contains folder details and files details. One folder is containing sub folders and files.
i need to retrieve all those files and folders in java and and i should display those files and folders on a web page in a tree structure.
I need an API for this requirement.

Barring further information I'd say any API will do - DOM, SAX, dom4j, JDOM, XOM, ...

Instead of an API, I can only send you the name of one single enabling technology which is the XSLT. That would be the basic use case of XSLT of transforming xml to (x)html. Search for its tutorials out-there. There would be more than you can digest in one go. And then XSLT can be called upon programmatically by java and plenty of other languages or commandline utilities.

JaxB could be used to convert your xml content into Java.

Later you can jsp usebean you can display your content in your web page.

Off course xslt, or dom or sax would still serve the cause too.
