Factors to decide a project

Hi guys,

Currently I am looking for a project in my firm. I have 6 years of experience in Java-J2EE.

I want your views on what factors should be considered while choosing a project.

I have been selected for a project based on multi-threading , caching (to be implemented on distributed systems), but want to understand what are the technologies that are in demand, what other factors should be considered while choosing a project etc.

I think the most important factor to consider when you have a choice of project is to pick one that you are genuinely interested in.

We can all learn new technologies, techniques, tools, languages, etc but if you aren't interested in what you're doing then you'll have a terribly hard time doing it every day.

Yep, I agree.

I think domain is another factor to be considered. I have been associated to finance domain and risk domain for some period but I never developed interest in it...
In my opinion, as a developer, having interest in domain certainly would make difference.
