Hi everybody,

I'm building a website (in JEE technology) which need a forum.
After some search on my google friend, i quickly find some links to "JForum" which seems the best choice actually.

Maybe one bad point, i didn't see any activity on the new version (JForum V3) since 2012.
I've find a "fork" of the version 2 on "https://code.google.com/p/jforum2/". But same things, i didn't see any activity on the project since june 2012. (Last version 2.3.4).

Is the project abandonned ? Do i have to look on another java forum solution ? Or JForum is robust enought and still the good choice to my website ?

Thank a lots for your answers ! And sorry if my english jab your eyes !

JForum 3 is most likely not coming any time soon (according from what the project lead has told us).

The JForum2 project over at GoogleCode is alive, it just hasn't seen a formal release recently. But the SVN repository contains a lot of new features and fixes; see https://code.google.com/p/jforum2/wiki/NewFeaturesTrunk for what's already been done.

I downloaded the current state of jforum 3 and noticed that a lot of work was done porting the code to new J2EE technologies (annotations etc.). Unfortunatly the code does not even compile. The main and the test branch do not seem to be in synch. It seems that the development stopped very suddenly. What happened? Is there any chance to reanimate the V3 development? Are there some committers who can tell more about the reasons why it stopped? And are there some committers who would drop in again for a continuation? I probably would.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
