I've started a new job so I'm an entry level programmer for a defense contractor. I don't have a lot of experience yet so forgive me if this is a dumb question. They use Wicket and are having me learn it, so I've been plowing through the Wicket in action book and the author touches on bookmarkablelinks. He gives an example use about a user sharing a page to send in an email or to another user. I guess I'm just not understanding the concept or its full capabilities. I'm trying to envision this link and what is actually happening. The book doesn't show any markup screens or snapshots of an example page with it. My impression is that a user clicks on the link and then some how the URL is being copied.... but I though when you click the bookmark widget in IE or chrome that does that for you.. or the user can just copy and paste the link.
Can someone give a better example of what this is used for? I tried searching the net and I really couldn't find a solid example of a bookmarkablelink that I understood. Thanks !
