How to build web app

I am new to jsp and servlets learning tutorials on j2ee for few weeks. I would like to build a web based application similar to online air ticket booking for example Travelpack. How do I achieve this. If one notice that you put in few letters for the departing airport and it instantly gives the option that has those alphabets so it's quite user friendly, which indicates this field accepts keyword from user and matches it to the databases at the back-end and returns the matched word

Any idea or example in this direction will be appreciated.

The autocomplete ui is made with: http://jqueryui.com/autocomplete/. The jqueryui library has many other controls too.

The allowed values are returned in json format from: http://www.travelpack.com/include/inc-ajax-get-list.php?option=Airport

Which can be created in Java by querying the database and creating json using a library such as http://code.google.com/p/google-gson/

Thanks for your reply and links you sent. I want to build this using jsp's and servlets. The example I gave in my previous post was for just to present a proposed task and not the one that website is actually built using. Could you propose anything using a Jsp's and Servlets.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
