for my new project i am using this tutorial
it lets you choose serif or sans serif but that is all. i want to use a JComboBox to choose from many like microsoft's wordpad does. how can i do this? is it platform dependent?

http://alvinalexander.com/blog/post/jfc-swing/swing-faq-list-fonts-current-platform should help; I found it by searching for "swing available fonts".
