How to write a SOAP web service that converts a SOAP request to REST request

Hi All,

I have a REST service exposed from a remote machine.
I want to write a SOAP web service on my local desktop that actually accepts SOAP requests and generate a REST request.
This REST request in turn should be processed by the REST service exposed on the remote machine.
The SOAP requests can be generated from the WSDL I expose from my local desktop.

Are there any open source tools that support this conversion mechanism?
What is the best possible way to implement this?

Thanks in advance

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
