I have an urgent requirement in my project to read house no.'s from scanned images. There are couple of open source optical character recognition software's out there in the market. I have tried couple of them like Tesseract, Tess4j etc. I`m able to get them to read characters without much problem like a scanned book with regular words. But they all fail miserably when attempting to high resolution images of numbers as in the requirement I have mentioned. Any push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I am aware that there are existing softwares used by companies for similar requirements
