I recently saw an old episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon gives Penny a presentation in the laundry room. He attaches a small USB kind of device which acts as a projector. I couldn't really see what it was.
Anyone know which device it is or is it just some fictional technology?

I don't recall the episode, but that technology isn't fictitious: they are usually called 'pico projectors'. They tend to be relatively dim but uber portable. I think some of them even attach directly to an iPhone.

Oh ok. Range is not a problem. I am dreaming of sitting in an armchair, projecting my screen on the wall and coding

Well, 90% of the gadgets shown in movies and TV series are not real.

And 87% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

The video looks like it might be this one: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/MobileProductivity/Home/Projectors/MP220/

It has the right form (projects out the long end, and a shiny control area on the top/back) and options (remote control, USB cable connection), and size (roughly hand sized - I think it is actually smaller WxH than my Galaxy Note 2).

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
