Maven web project: "Run on server" option?

Hi all,

I am a Maven beginner. I have just created a Web project with m2eclipse.
However, when I right click on the project and choose "Run As", I did not see the option "Run on server" option as I always see with other Web projects.
(However, I can build the war file and deploy on Tomcat). What can I do to see this option so that I don't have to build war file and then deploy it?

Thank you very much.

Your project needs the "Dynamic Web Module" facet (under Project Facets in the project's properties dialog) to show that menu entry. You probably need to install the "Maven Integration for WTP" extensions from the Eclipse marketplace. Once you do that I'm not sure if simply adding the correct facet will be sufficient or if you will have to recreate the project to get that facet.
