Hi ,

How to select suitable jvm for jboss(any version) in production mode ?

What are the parameters we have to consider in selecting jvm ?

Regards,
Narayan.

I would first check the supported version for the particular JBoss version and based on that would try to use the latest in the available range.

Few parameters that need to be considered are -Xms, -Xmx, -XX:MaxPermSize.

The only way to determine the correct heap size settings is to run a load test on your app, analyze the garbage collection activity, and then use that to select the size. For the load testing you usually want to use a very large heap setting, then based on the gc stats you can reduce the size and try again.

And there is no way to change the -Xmx and -Xms sizes once the JVM starts running.
