More than one kanban board

I experimented with kanban at work and it seemed to work well, then I heard about personal kanban and tried to use it for my private life too. That seemed much harder, and trying to keep two boards up to date was painful - but I couldn't unify the boards either.

Have you tried using a personal kanban board? If so, how did it go?
