Using iTextPdf Examples

I am trying to run some iTextPdf examples before buying the book and lisence to decide if this tool is what I really need. I downloaded iText Library from "" site. And am trying to test/run HelloWorld from "" site - it's just a single .java file. This suppose to be the simplest example I guess.

But when I try to run I am getting the error on "package com.itextpdf.text does not exist".

Has anyone experienced a similar problem and offer some help please ? I even copied the iText jar files into the example project.

Thank you

That would mean that the jar file isn't in your classpath when you compile that code, then.

Although you mention a "project". That suggests you are using some kind of IDE to compile your code. In that case you probably haven't added the jar to the project's classpath, or build path, or whatever your unknown IDE calls it.
