Hi ,

I attended a product based company recently and hr said i'm technically through but after that they took 2 weeks time to get the approval from higher authority after which they discussed about the package .
Then they said they will release the offer in 2 to 3 days time but they didn't so i called to his(HR) mobile but he didn't pic the call so even i dropped a mail to know the status , but they didn't reply .
Now it's 6 days since they agreed on the package and offer getting released .
How should i go about this ? Why it's getting delayed ?

Welcome to the Ranch.

Keep looking for other options.
Cause for the delay could be practically anything. And frankly speaking there is nothing you can do about it, nor is the company under any kind of obligation to make you an offer.

Sure. What's the most that can happen? They will tell the offer is not ready yet

or how about you write an email instead?

Edit : Calling is fine also. Personally I prefer emails to calls.

My opinion, and only an opinion:--

Follow Maneesh's original advice.
Keep waiting.
Keep looking elsewhere.

All you achieve by multiple phone calls would be to annoy them. If you don't hear by about next Monday (30th) phone just to make sure the offer hasn't got lost somewhere.

And welcome to the Ranch

Agree. But in this case it will be the first call (if they pick up)

In that case, all you achieve by multiple phone calls is annoying yourself. If they don't answer the phone, do you actually want to work there?

Congrats .....

you are lucky that you are through the process..

My Roomie got campus placed in an MNC in the month of January, and he didn't got call letter yet.

May be by the EOY he will get, it's also just an assumption of ours , he didn't get any conformation from the company authorities..

You know up to May he Celebrated his success and then he waited and waited and waited, and lastly he got Frustrated.

So, consider yourself Lucky bud..

All the Best.

A little straightforward advice: don't text people you don't know personally, and particularly not in a business setting. After you left a message (either voice mail or email), wait at least a week before making contact again, even if they promised to get something done before that. As was said before, there can be any number of reasons for the delay, and making contact more often is unlikely to result in anything but them getting annoyed at you. If this is unacceptable to you, then you either need to become more patient, or hope that things will proceed in a manner that's more to your liking at some other company.

You must be in india. India, HR people are not professional. They wont reply unless they need resource like you badly. For my case, i gave interview and my hr round was pending. I just left hope that day went sleep. Same day HR called me and asked whether my package is negotiable. I was in sleep and said no and cut the call. Next day i got offer that i asked. If they need you, they will surely call you. But followup in a professional way is also important i think.
