Can we move weblogic portal application to tomcat server ? if yes, what it will take to move the application ?

If no, then which are the other servers available. I want to get rid of weblogic because it is very costly server and we are not using any application server features.

Are you using portlets? Tomcat isn't a portal server, so if you need that, you will have to investigate one that can run on top of Tomcat, like Liferay. I don't have any experience porting from one portal server to another, but they do supposedly implement the same standards, so it should be possible. On the other hand, if you are just doing JSP and Servlets, or JSF, then the migration should be fairly painless. It might be just as easy as deploying your war file on Tomcat and seeing what happens.

@Greg, Thanks for your reply.

I am using portalets, portal, book etc (weblogic specific features). Is there any way of migrating application to any other server ?
Maybe using some third party tool, jar etc

I don't think you'll find a magic porting tool, but there are surely white papers, blogs, etc. Once you choose a portal server to target, you can start researching those. My experience with this kind of porting is that it can be tricky but it's possible. Again, I've never had to port from from one portal server to another. I once ported from one app server to another, and several times have ported from one version of an app server to another, which can be just as problematic.
